Lyn’s Family Day Care - Frenchs Forest
Hi, my name is Lyn and I opened up my FDC in Feb 2019.
My Family Day Care is designed to be a home away from home for your child. A place where they can just be themselves in a loving, safe and secure environment. Children need the assurance of being loved and cared for whilst they are enjoying a play- based, educational environment.
Teaching children is my passion. Security and trust are very important components as well of my relationship with each child. Children should be given choices, responsibilities and opportunities to initiate their own learning. I believe that children learn through play and I will provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create and imagine. I am guided by ‘The Early Year’s Learning Framework’ for Australia for my observations and assessments on each child.
Living in this beautiful climate we engage in lots of outdoor experiences and take regular visits to local parks to ensure children are learning in natural environments. Giving children the freedom of playing outdoors helps them to feel happier and calmer whilst also encouraging creativity and stimulating their imaginations.
I was born and raised in Wales, UK but have been living in Australia for the past 21yrs. I have a wonderful supportive husband called Ivan and 3 teenage children, Maya 14yrs and twins Jack and Olivia 13yrs. Yes, I had 3 children in 18mths!! Since having children, my life has of course been busy, crazy and manic but I wouldn’t of had it any other way. I actually thrive on juggling and doing a million things at the same time so opening up my FDC has come very naturally to me!! Jack and Olivia especially adore children and are very hands on when they arrive home from school. We think of your children as an extended part of our family.
I have more or less always worked with children, from babysitting in my teenage years in the village where I grew up in to working at the ‘Royal Far West Children’s health scheme’ in Manly to recently working at ‘Rosey Pot Kindergarten’ in Balgowlah for the past 4 yrs.
Opening up my own FDC has always been a dream of mine and it was only made possible last year when I completed my diploma in childcare and also the completion of the renovations to our house where we added another level to obviously have more space!

Current First aid and CPR( inc Asthma and Anaphylaxis
Safe Sleep Training
Child Protection
Munch and Move Training
My fees include all nutritional home cooked meals, wipes, sun cream, hats and any planned excursions.
